According to the Lynnfield Public Library (LPL) mission: “Our Library ensures free, equitable access to traditional and innovative resources, services and programs, which fosters a love of reading, inspires lifelong learning, promotes culture, and encourages connections among all community members.” LPL is YOUR library!

What does the Library do for you?

  • Free resources – from books, movies, comics, music, magazines, and audiobooks to the Library of Things, test proctoring, scanning services, research help, and notary services, the LPL has something for everyone and can help you save money, time, and clutter! (There is a small fee for printing 15 cents per page for black and white and 25 cents per page for color).
  • Digital Resources – Ebooks, audiobooks, movie and music streaming, language learning and research databases, Consumer Reports, newspapers, and more from the comfort of your home!
  • Programming for all ages, including storytimes, lectures on interesting topics, crafts, and much more!
  • A comfortable Space to work, read, or meet up with neighbors – please come and stay all day! We are warm in the winter and cool in the summer, plus there is no expectation to spend any money.
  • Technology help

Want to show your support? Here are some great ways to show that you love library services:

  • Use the library! Check out materials, attend a program, use the computers – all of these things help show how much Lynnfield values library services.
  • Encourage your friends and neighbors to get library cards.
  • Let us know what you love about LPL or libraries in general, by sharing your stories with us using the form at the bottom of the page. The staff loves to hear what is going well and what could be improved.
  • Join and/or Donate to the Friends of the Lynnfield Library (FOLL) or the Lynnfield Library Foundation! FOLL supports programs and museum passes, while the Foundation helps with larger projects, like furniture upgrades!
  • Learn about the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) funding requests from the state budget. Last year, MBLC gave the LPL over $30,000 in State Aid, which helps provide even better services for less Lynnfield taxpayer money. In the past, LPL has used State Aid to replace furniture, provide new databases, fund special events, and more!

For every dollar spent on the Lynnfield Public Library in fiscal year 2025, patrons got back at least $2.40 in services.
