After many meetings over the summer and a vote to finalize designs at the recent Building Renovation Committee, Tappe Architects was able to work with their cost estimator PM & C to provide a complete cost estimate for the Lynnfield Public Library Renovation Project at the most recent Select Board meeting. You can view the meeting on the Town’s Vimeo page. The total is $18.3 million dollars for renovations and a 5,000 square foot expansion, which allows for a Teen Room, private study rooms, and a Meeting Room among other improvements. During the strategic planning process, we found that these are the three major services requested by the Lynnfield community. The cost averages out to $208 a year per household.
Jeff Hoover from Tappe Architects also went over an updated schematic design presentation on the designs and cost at the Select Board meeting and Lynnfield Public Library Trustee Anne Malenfant provided a comprehensive presentation on cost considerations. You can view both presentations as part of the meeting recording or by downloading them at the links.
