Share Your Library Story – LPL Board of Trustees’ Vice Chair Anne Malenfant

Categories:

There are SO many different things to do at the library that it can be hard to remember them all. We wanted to start a series of interviews with different members of the Lynnfield Community to learn about their favorite things to do here, any tips & tricks they’ve learned along the way, and get some recommendations to add to our TBR lists.

This week, we will hear from current Vice Chair of the LPL Board of Trustees and former President of the Friends of the Lynnfield Library, Anne Malenfant.

When did you get your first library card?

I began volunteering at the Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick, Maine (my hometown) when I was 12 years old, and at that time received my very own library card. With the number of books I checked out I had to take on that responsibility myself!

Tell us your favorite thing about the Lynnfield Public Library.

I love that the library is open to everyone.  You can show up for a program, check out a book, or just enjoy the quiet.

Favorite author?

I love Kirsten Hannah – she is a prolific author, but writes in many different voices/styles.  I know whatever book I read from her I will enjoy, likely learn something, but not feel like I had already read that same plot.

Favorite resource?

The Library of Things!  The hotspot has come in handy for work travel, and we have enjoyed trying new games.

What are you reading right now?

I just finished “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt. I was a little wary of the premise when I started reading it – but glad I stuck with it.
