National Library Week: 2024

By Marita Klements, Assistant Director

Did you know that April 7th-13th is National Library Week?

We know that in February, Love Your Library Month, you told us how much you appreciate us.  And we’re grateful!  National Library Week is a time when we can remind you of all the great things we can share with you!  So here it is, a list of some (but not all!) of the things your library has for you!

 1.       Books.  Paper books.  Old fashioned?  Maybe.  Out dated?  Never!  For anything you want to learn about about, books have you covered Plus there’s so much to enjoy!  Best Sellers, old favorites, true stories, no matter what book you’re looking for, if we don’t have it here, we can almost certainly get it.

2.       TV and Movies.  Yes, we’ve got DVDs.  New Movies, hot shows, even classics.  What’s that, you say?  You prefer streaming?  We’ve got that too!  You can use your library card to sign up for Hoopla or Kanopy and stream movies for free on your device.

3. The arts.  Art of all kinds and for all ages.  On Monday, April 8th we’ll be hosting the Lynnfield Art Guild and the Village Home and Garden club for their annual celebration of beauty Art in Bloom!  Every Thursday this month we’ll be hosting music educator Bill Sano for his renowned music lecture series.  And if you prefer to make art yourself, keep an eye on our calendar for our many children’s and adult art classes and groups.

4. Community!  Whether it’s a place to watch the solar eclipse, a chance to meet with your state representative, or a book group, we are proud to be a place where the Lynnfield Community Comes together.

We hope you and your friends and family will come join us at the Lynnfield Library this library week, and all year.
