The Lynnfield Summer Reading 2023 has come to a close. It was another fantastic summer with our community reading over 2,000 books in total! We continued our “Can You Read More Than a Librarian?” team competition. Children, teens, adults, and library staff will be racing to see who can read the most books. For the third year running the Children’s Team was the first to reach 250!
A little rain didn’t stop the fun at our Summer Reading Kickoff with J.P. Licks, crafts, bubbles, face painting!
The fun kept going at the Library with Painting in the Park, Bubble Dance Party, Jungle Jim, Saturday crafts, and Story Time on the Common. We had a wide range of programming for across all ages from Jungle Jim to a 100 Years of Boston Comedy!
The Massachusetts and Lynnfield Cultural Council helped to bring in a variety programs to Lynnfield including Lizzie Borden and 40 Whacks, a Ukulele Workshop, Pamela Means, 100 Years of Boston Comedy, Ed the Wizard and Summer Reading Finale with Henry the Juggler!
The Library was back at MarketStreet this summer with four amazing performances from: Music with Kat Chapman, Lindsay and her Puppet Pals, Ed Popielarczyk’s Magic Show, and Cure for the Common Show with Bryson Lang.
We had such a blast this summer and can’t wait to do it again next year! All raffle prize winners and Topsfield Fair Read to Win recipients will be contacted with instructions to pick up their prizes.
A HUGE thank you to the Friends of the Lynnfield, the Massachusetts and Lynnfield Cultural Councils, and the North Suburban Child and Family Resource Network for providing funding for programs. Thank you to MarketStreet for hosting us again this summer and to the Wakefield Co-Optional Bank for supporting the Friends of the Lynnfield Library.
