April was an exciting month full of news – we had over 1000 people attend events! The Library was awarded a $6,000 Preservation Grant to help us take care of Lynnfield’s Local History & Genealogy collection. Administrative Assistant Sarah Boçi is now a notary public, so we will be able to offer notary services soon.
Additionally, the staff and I would like to welcome our new Board members. Joseph Gallagher (Chair), Anne Malenfant (Vice Chair), and Darlene Samikkannu Kumar were elected on April 9 and we are very excited to work with them.
I also want to extend my appreciation and gratitude to our retiring Board Members – Robert Calamari, Russell Boekenkroeger, and Andrew Kenneally. Your leadership during such complicated times was invaluable and the Lynnfield Public Library is certainly better for it. There will be a reception held Wednesday, May 15 from 4-6 PM at the Meeting House to celebrate their tenure as Trustees. Please join us!
Thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter. We know your inboxes are always full, so we appreciate you taking the time to hear about what we have planned for you. And don’t forget to stop by the Friends of the Lynnfield Library Book Sale May 10-11!
