The Lynnfield Public Library is excited to announce our 2025 Community Read! We will be reading The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, a now classic work of middle grade literature perfect for a whole family read, an interpretation of Percy Jackson will also be this year’s Middle School Play (February 7-9). For those already familiar with Percy Jackson, for a work aimed at adults we’ll be featuring Madeline Miller’s Circe;  the picture book Goddesses and Gardens by Valerie Tripp and Teresa Martinez for younger children; and the nonfiction middle grade book Weird But True: Greek Mythology by Sarah Wassner Flynn. These books focus on stories of Greek mythology for all ages and interest levels and will be available to check out at the Lynnfield Library.

Events and community discussions are planned around these books, in partnership with A Healthy Lynnfield, Lynnfield Community Schools, Lynnfield Recreation, Lynnfield Cultural Council, and Lynnfield For Love. We are particularly excited to host a virtual author talk with Madeline Miller, in partnership with several other libraries and Whitelam Books in Reading. We will also host Kouzina for Curious About Cuisine, Lightning Thief Trivia, the Traveling Librarian Jeff Klapes on his travels in Greece, a Greek God scavenger hunt, Camp-Half Blood Necklace Quest and much more! We hope you’ll join us in reading and discussing these great books. For more information, please visit www.lynnfieldlibrary.org or call 781-334-5411.
