Video games are such a great way to relieve stress, practice hand eye coordination, learn to analyze stories, and connect with friends online! Lauren and Abby are avid gamers and wanted to share a few favorites available through the Lynnfield Library catalog!
- Pokemon Sword and Shield – The newest Pokemon games are great intros to the series for new players and just as fun for adults who have been playing since they were young.
- Horizon: Zero Dawn – In this game, you play as Aloy, a girl who lives in a world without technology – except for the giant, mysterious robotic machines that populate the world. She must fight for her survival and learn the secrets of her own past. Lauren’s top recommendation for teens who love to game (and who are okay with some violence).
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Fun racing game for all ages.
- Overcooked! and Overcooked 2! – Great communication skills are a must in these games that are best with a friend. Silly and fun, and you don’t have to play them in order.
- Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster – There are a lot of fun games in the role-playing game series Final Fantasy – we have the X/X-2 set at the library, and you don’t need to play other Final Fantasy games before trying this one.
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – Take part in epic battles and stealthy assassinations in this game set in ancient Greece.
- God of War (2018) – In this game you’ll explore Midgard, fight dragons, and take down some Norse gods while siding with others. You can play the original trilogy for background info, but it isn’t necessary to enjoy this one! Recommended for older teens and up.
- Tetris Effect – Abby’s favorite game to play to relax!
- Mortal Kombat 11 – Despite this game not having Abby’s favorite character Jade, it was still an engaging story and fun to play! This game has some graphic violence, so older teens and up, please.
- Katamari Damacy – We have Katamari Forever at the library, but any of the games in this series is so much fun!
