The Lynnfield Public Library has added morning Front Door Service hours! You can make appointments to pick up your books and movies from 10-12pm on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, in addition to our ongoing 4-7 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10-12 pm on Saturdays. We are very excited to be able to expand, as we know our community has wanted more options for pick up times. This is, in part, due to finally being able to fill two positions that have been vacant since before COVID started. We recently added the wonderful Samantha Totman and Jillian Toomey to our Circulation staff and they’ve really made the difference in what we have been able to accomplish. Preparing for Front Door Service is a surprising amount of work! We also have craft kits available during every Saturday Front Door Service, from 10-12 pm and they are first come, first serve. If you miss one, please email aporter@noblenet.org, as we may have extras! They are a lot of fun to put together and a great way to de-stress for the whole family.
We hope you are all enjoying the online events we have been planning, from Wine 101 with a certified Sommelier to Magic Shows to pickle-making classes! Please check our online calendar to find out more about our upcoming events, such as The New Normal New England Road Trip with Ted Reinstein on Tuesday, December 1 or Creepy Christmas with Jeff Belenger from New England Legends on Wednesday, December 9!
We are also lending our WiFi hotspots for up to three weeks, so please reach out to lfd@noblenet.org or call 781-334-5411 for help with getting online or to learn how to use one of our awesome online resources, like Hoopla for renting movies, exercise classes, and books, Libby for all your ebook needs, and Creativebug for online craft courses. We have access to lots of British mysteries on Acorn TV through our database RB Digital, which also allows you to page through thousands of magazines from home. We could talk about our online services for hours, so please call with any questions!
In the meantime, keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages for the newest updates and to hear more about our services. We are also updating our website weekly with how to’s and book recommendations, so please visit www.lynnfieldlibrary.org to see more! This Friday, November 20, we’ll be featuring our favorite pie cookbooks in preparation for Thanksgiving!
Is there something else you’re missing? Please reach out, even if it’s just to chat! Staff are in the building every day except Sunday and we miss you all! We hope to open for browsing as soon as it is safe, but, if there is a service we can help you with in the meantime, please let us know. We are more than happy to help you get access to what you need if we can!
