BookFlix® Literacy Tool

Categories:

By Joan Carbone – Youth Services Library Assistant, Lynnfield Public Library

The Lynnfield Public Library is excited to announce we’ve added a new database to help children learn important reading skills! BookFlix® is a digital literacy resource that pairs more than 120 animated stories from Weston Woods with a best-selling nonfiction eBook from Scholastic on a similar subject. The fiction and nonfiction pairings are designed to strengthen early literacy skills while exposing young learners to real world concepts. BookFlix® is aimed at young learners from PreK-Grade 3.

BookFlix® will read books to your child and allow them to follow along. There are also additional features to go deeper into reading, vocabulary and the non-fiction topics. Some of the books are even available in Spanish as well as English!

Now you can use BookFlix® for free through the Lynnfield Library Website!      https://lynnfieldlibrary.org/

From the Library’s home page > click on the Youth Services tab > Click on the Bookflix button and log on with your library card number!

Once you’ve logged in to BookFlix® you can choose a category of story to enjoy. If you only want to see Spanish choices, just click the upper right Espanol button.

Now select a book pair! From here you can listen and follow along with either the story selection or the non-fiction book.

You can use the menu on the left side to explore further. When you’re finished reading, just go back to the selection page and pick another pair of books!!

Have fun with this awesome new tool!
